Assembly District 60 - Fond du Lac

Assembly District 60 is a very likely +14 Republican district and the Incumbent, Jerry O’Connor (R) retires.

District 60?

Assembly District 60 includes the City of Fond du Lac, Village of North Fond du Lac, Town of Fond du Lac, Town of Friendship, and Town of Empire.

Only one Republican emerged to the final ballot and no Democrat is running. This district will now be tested by an Independent VS. Republican, with Democrat on the final ticket.

The Republican is Marty Ryan:

Marty Ryan announces, on the Fond du Lac County Board, during the 2018 referendums he said every police chief and many healthcare professionals wrote letters to him begging him not to support the marijuana referendums, also gave negative news quote and tried to push the referendum back to a committee to further stall out the process.

I contacted his campaign very early on, in April and just recently I forwarded him all of our candidate resources and request to complete the 2026 Candidate Questionnaire.

The strategy for this district is going to have to include speaking to healthcare professionals and law enforcement locally to help them understand the issue. This will include the possible use of LEAP (Law Enforcement Action Partnership) and utilize the “Speakers Bureau”, they have three Wisconsin dedicated speakers: https://lawenforcementactionpartnership.org/category/speakers/?search_speakers=1&s=&state=WI

Any suggestions for local healthcare professional angle in Fond du Lac?

We will also need to have a strong Republican constituent representation reaching out to this candidate now and if elected. The will of the people, based off Marty Ryan’s 2018 comments and actions are going to need to be well organized.

I have a local sponsor of my election coverage, MedMeridian, and we will be meeting shortly to strategize. We will also be meeting with the Independent Candidate, Tiffany Brault. I have already done some pre-work with the Brault campaign since April also. She has been very approachable and is intaking knowledge on the subject like a sponge, it is a serious issue to her. She has already spoken publicly during her campaign about her support for hemp cannabis and again, I will be speaking with her along with Andy from MedMeridian in Fond du Lac shortly. We will keep you posted.

Here is a little about Tiffany Brault as taken from her website:

Tiffany was first elected to local office in 2021 when she took a stand for residents who had been shut out of discussions on proposed developments in Lakeside Park. She was elected to the Fond du Lac City Council, where she and fellow council members worked to restore order to the council and make Fond du Lac City Government stable and functional again. Tiffany has supported investments in public safety, infrastructure, and local parks and community development. She served as City Council President for two years and is currently Council Vice President.

In 2022, Tiffany was elected to represent District 20 on the Fond du Lac County Board. She has served on both City Council and County Board since then. She is the City Council representative on the Fond du Lac Public Library Board. At the County level, she serves on the UW-Extension, Education, Agriculture and Recreation Committee, the Land Conservation Committee, and the Ripon Public Library Board. She has previously served on the City-County Building Board, the Fond du Lac Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board, and the County Human Services Committee. Tiffany is also a graduate of the Local Government Leadership Academy.

Tiffany is known for her willingness to dive into each issue and learn as much background information as she can before making a decision. She works hard and values feedback from residents, because her decisions impact you! Tiffany is not afraid to stand up for her constituents and has a record for challenging proposals that are not the best choice for Fond du Lac County residents.

Tiffany and her husband Andy have three children, a senior cat named Jasmine, and a golden retriever named Duke. Tiffany enjoys reading, singing, and playing board games. The most likely places you’ll find her outside of work and meetings is at a local thrift store, or at the library.

Marty Ryan is asking publicly for you to talk to him want.
